LLM visibility
Definition. LLM visibility is how often, and how favourably, a brand appears in the answers large language models give to relevant questions. It is measured by running a fixed panel of prompts against each engine on a schedule and logging mentions, citations and recommendations.
The metric only means anything if the prompt panel stays stable. Change the prompts and the numbers move, which makes month-to-month comparisons meaningless unless the panel is fixed.
Three levels are worth separating: being mentioned, being cited with a link, and being recommended as the answer. Brands often have plenty of the first and none of the third.
