The costs that are not on the pricing page
- The feature-gate upgrade. The plan you need is rarely the plan advertised. AI-visibility tracking in particular is gated one or two tiers above the headline price at almost every vendor.
- Per-engine add-ons. Several AI-visibility tools include three engines and sell the rest separately, so full coverage can cost double the sticker price.
- Seats. Suites charge per user. A second person on Semrush starts at $45 a month; Jasper's Pro plan is single-seat and multi-user means custom pricing.
- Promotional renewal. Two of the autopilots here advertise a discounted rate against a much higher list price. Confirm the renewal figure before month thirteen.
- Your own time. The largest line for most small teams. A $99 tool needing eight hours of editing a month costs closer to $580 at a $60 hourly rate. The content cost calculator makes that visible.
