Schema markup generator
Generate valid JSON-LD structured data for FAQs, articles, how-tos, software, organizations, local businesses, breadcrumbs and products. Copy it, paste it, validate it.
Structured data tells machines what a page is about in a form they cannot misread, which matters more now that retrieval systems parse pages at speed. Pick a type, fill the fields, and copy the JSON-LD into your page's head.
The tool
Your results appear here as soon as you change a value.
How to use it
- Pick the type that matches the page One primary type per page. An article about a product is an Article, not a Product.
- Fill only fields that are true and visible Structured data must describe what a user can actually see on the page. Marking up content that is not there is a spam policy violation.
- Paste the output into the head Inside a script tag with type application/ld+json. It can also go in the body, but the head is conventional.
- Validate before you ship Google's Rich Results Test and the Schema.org validator both catch missing required properties in seconds.
How the numbers work
Everything here runs in JavaScript in your browser. No input is sent anywhere, nothing is stored, and there is no account, no email gate and no export limit. The maths is deliberately simple so you can check it: where a benchmark is used, the source is named on the page rather than hidden behind a "based on industry data" claim.
Where this calculator uses published research, it uses these: the position-CTR meta-analysis from First Page Sage (updated May 2025), the 34.5% AI Overview click reduction measured by Ahrefs across 300,000 keywords, and Pew Research Center's click-behaviour study. Tool prices come from vendor pricing pages read on 2 August 2026. All of them are averages, and averages are a starting point, not a forecast: your own Search Console data beats every benchmark on this page.
Frequently asked questions
Does schema markup improve rankings?
Not directly. It makes a page eligible for rich results and it makes your content unambiguous to machines that parse it, including the retrieval layers behind AI answers. Treat it as clarity, not as a ranking lever.
Which schema types matter most?
Organization and WebSite site-wide, BreadcrumbList on every page, Article on content, FAQPage where you genuinely answer questions, Product and LocalBusiness where they apply. Beyond that, returns diminish quickly.
Do FAQ rich results still appear?
Only for a narrow set of sites since Google restricted them. The markup remains useful because it makes your question-and-answer structure explicit to anything parsing the page, but do not add it expecting the visual result.
