E-E-A-T

Definition. E-E-A-T stands for Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness and Trust. It is a framework from Google's Search Quality Rater Guidelines used to assess content quality, not a score in the ranking algorithm, and Trust is the element the guidelines describe as most important.

Experience was added to distinguish content written by someone who has actually used, visited or tested the thing from content assembled from other people's writing. It is the hardest element to fake and the most valuable to demonstrate.

In practice E-E-A-T shows up as named authors with real credentials, cited sources, transparent ownership, clear contact details and corrections when something is wrong.

It matters more as AI content proliferates: when everyone can produce fluent text, provenance becomes the differentiator.
