Definition. A content brief is the specification handed to a writer or a model before drafting: the target query, the intent, the angle, the sections to cover, the sources to use and the internal links to include. Brief quality determines draft quality more than any other input.
Most content problems that look like writing problems are briefing problems. A vague brief produces a generic draft whether a human or a model writes it.
The element most briefs omit is the information gain: the one thing this page will contain that the current top results do not. Without it, the draft can only restate the consensus.
