SEO audit

Definition. An SEO audit is a systematic review of a site's technical health, content and links, producing a prioritised list of what to fix. Its value is entirely in the prioritisation: a crawler will always find hundreds of issues, and most of them do not matter.

Order the findings by what blocks indexation first, then what blocks ranking, then what improves it at the margin. Alphabetical or severity-labelled lists from tools rarely reflect that order.

An audit nobody implements has negative value, because it costs money and creates the impression that something was done.
