Orphan page
Definition. An orphan page is a page with no internal links pointing to it. Search engines can only find it through a sitemap or an external link, so it is frequently crawled late, indexed poorly, or not at all.
Orphans accumulate silently on large sites: campaign landing pages, old product URLs, imported content. A crawler comparing the sitemap against the link graph finds them in one pass.
The fix is either a link from a relevant page or removal. Leaving an orphan in the sitemap tells search engines it matters while your own site says it does not.
